
On Monday, March 11th 2019 was my second teaching practicum. I taught students in English for Specific Purpose. I did teaching practicum for Electrical and Electronic Engineering Class. At that time I got topic about Electric Motor. I started teaching students at 7-8 periods or at 12:30 pm-14:10 pm in classroom number A304. The pressure of teaching students in ESP class was more than GE class. This was because the topic in ESP class was more difficult. I taught about English that was used for Electrical and Electronic Engineering major. Before I teach students, I had to learn more about Electric Motor, because I must explain it to my students.

I arrived in classroom at 12:20 pm. I prepared all of the things needed such as task, handbook, power point, LCD, and also turn on the screen. My supervisor and also the real teacher who had the duty to teach that class also came. They sat in the behind classroom and observed when I did teaching practicum. Then, the time showed 12:30. It was time to teach students. I started learning by greeting them and also introduced myself. I also repeated the topic that they learnt in previous week. I gave some questions to students related to the new topic. They answered questions actively and in correct. Next, I gave a task which is filling the diagram. I asked them to read a text, after that I asked them to fill the diagram. They made it well. After finished it, we discussed it together. When they didn’t understand about it they asked to me. So, this class was so active.
I moved to the next section, I explained about language features that is commonly used for explaining the dismantle part of something. In here, I explained some language features in order to explain the part of something, the name of the part, and the placed. To ensure students understood about it, I asked them to do the task about filling the blank by choosing the correct answer in their handbooks. We also discussed the right answers together. In addition, after discussing I asked students to work in group. I asked them to explain some ways in connecting electricity. I divided them into three small groups and gave them three names of the way in connecting electricity. After they found the information, they explained in front of class. I also gave some confirmation whether it was right or wrong and asked the students if they have any idea. At the end of learning, I summarized all of topic.
I conducted my third teaching practicum on Thursday, March 14th 2019. I taught students in General English Class. I taught students in the same class at A106 and also same periods at 1-3 started from 07:00 am till 09:40 am. I taught new topic which is about Lesson A (Pronunciation and Speaking).

For pronunciation part, I taught students about how to give stress. I explained students in stressing some words to change their class words. In this section, I told about how to stress noun words become adjective words. I used clapping hands and method to teach words stress. If the stress in the syllable, they had to clap their palm hands. But, if the other syllables didn’t get the stress, they have to clap their hands in other part. After I demonstrated that, all students followed that.

Then, I divided students become two groups. I invited each representative of group to give the clue by clapping their hands. The rest of members had to guess what probably word that their friends mean. This game has aim to ensure students’ comprehension and also they can use this method well. The winner of this game was group 1.


The next part was about speaking. This part was very difficult, because I as a teacher should make students be active in speaking. I gave them an activity in which they should do interview with their friends. They had to interview some questions that have been provided to their friends. After collecting the information, they had to make a simple report. They made a report based on the format that had been showed before. Then, after making report, I asked one student to read the report and I asked some questions to other students about their friend’s report. I also didn’t forget to summarize all of topics that have been learned.

Time flied so fast. I didn’t expect this day was my last day in teaching. My last teaching practicum was on Tuesday, March 19th 2019. I taught students in General English Class, but in not same class with previous General English Class. I taught students at period 5 in room A314. I started teaching at 10:40 am till 11:30 am. I taught them topic was interaction.
I opened learning by greeting and also introducing myself. Then, I asked students some questions related to their personal information. I encouraged them to the new topic and asked some questions related to the picture. Then, I told students to make a task on their handbooks first. After they finished, we corrected the answers which one is right or wrong. I moved to the next section was gap filling. Students had to fill the blank by writing the correct answers. After they did the tasks, they corrected the answers with their partner. The last activity was speaking. In here, I told students to do conversation with their partner by using some expressions in advising against something and considering advice. At the end of teaching, I summarized all of the topics.
