“One’s destination is never a place but a new way of seeing things” – Henry Miller
On January 13, 2019 I arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, Philippines. I remembered the way I opened my eyes after landed and said in heart “Philippines, here we are!”. My friends and I was so excited because that was our first time to travel abroad. We do believe by traveling abroad we will see different things and we will realize new things. What we believed is proved here in CLSU, yes! Central Luzon State University. This University is located in Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. It was built in 1907 on 658-hectare area. In this campus I noticed that there were lots of trees, growing up so big and high. So, after passed the main gate of the campus and went inside of it all I saw were the trees. It felt like I walked in forest but it was neater. I love it, so green and so natural. That was my very first impression.
Here, I saw the students in campus are familiar because their faces and physicals were almost similar with Indonesians. Not only Filipino people but also I met people from different parts of Indonesia. They were the students who join the program Sea Teacher. There were eleven students from Sea Teacher Project and four students from University to University Program. So, totally we were fifteen students who stayed at RSTC Hostel in CLSU. On my first evening in CLSU my friends and I decided to take some pictures in front of the main gate of the campus. Luckily, the main gate was still decorated with lamps after Christmas celebration. Still in my mind how we smiled, laughed, and shouted “mabuhay Philippines” which means long live Philippines.
There are some information that I will share here related to my experiences and my reports about conducting teaching practicum in CLSU, Philippines.
