Singaraja, June 11, 2024 – The Institute for Quality Assurance and Learning Development (LPMPP) of Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) carried out a socialization activity regarding the mechanism for publishing textbooks on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 09.00 WITA. The activity was attended by the Secretary of LPMPP, the Dean, the Textbook Scriptwriter, and presented the leading publisher Rajagrafindo Persada as the main speaker.
This activity aims to provide lecturers and authors with an in-depth understanding of the procedures and stages in publishing textbooks, which is one of the important aspects in improving the quality of education. Rajagrafindo Persada, which has experience in publishing quality academic books, shares knowledge on various technical and non-technical aspects related to publishing.
This event was opened by the Secretary of LPMPP Undiksha Prof. Dr. I Made Tegeh, S.Pd., M.Pd., who in his speech stated that this socialization is expected to motivate lecturers and academics in Undiksha to be more active in writing and publishing scientific papers. “By understanding a good publishing mechanism, we hope that lecturers can produce quality textbooks and contribute positively to the world of education,” he said.
The representative of Rajagrafindo Persada, Mr. Nur Arianto, explained in detail about the publishing process starting from the submission of the manuscript, the review process, editing, to the distribution of the book. He also emphasized the importance of originality and quality of content in textbook writing. “We always strive to maintain high standards in every book we publish, so that it can be a valuable reference for students and academics,” he said
In addition, the interactive question and answer session between participants and resource persons was a very interesting part of this socialization. The lecturers who attended actively asked questions related to various obstacles that they often faced in the process of writing and publishing textbooks. Some of the questions asked include copyright, how to deal with plagiarism, and book marketing strategies. With this activity, it is hoped that lecturers and writers in Undiksha will be more motivated to produce quality academic works that are beneficial for improving the quality of education in Indonesia. LPMPP Undiksha is committed to continuing to support and facilitate the development of lecturer competencies in various fields, including in writing and publishing textbooks.
