Badung – Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) through Lembaga Penjaminan Mutu and Pengembangan Pembelajaran (LPMPP) carried out an evaluation of field practices for students, Friday (2/8/2024). The evaluation that took place in Kuta, Badung was the basis for designing future programs in order to realize graduates who are competitive and have character.
This evaluation was carried out for the 2024 School Field Practice (PLP) and Industry and World of Work (IDUKA) programs which have ended. The Chairman of LPMPP Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Made Tegeh, S.Pd., M.Pd said that in general, the implementation of these two programs has gone well and smoothly. However, according to him, it is still important to carry out an evaluation as an effort to realize the implementation of an increasingly quality program. This is also a form of Undiksha’s commitment to produce graduates who are competitive, superior, and have character. “The topic raised is to create graduates who are competitive and have character. This is a challenge for us because it is related to student competence and character. Two things that our graduates must obtain in order to compete in society. Therefore, the evaluation of the implementation of the program is very important,” he explained accompanied by the Secretary of LPMPP Undiksha, Dr. I Putu Gede Parma, S.ST., M.Par.
The evaluation carried out is not only related to the implementation of the program. But it also includes the relevance of field experience to the field of study, mentoring and guidance during practice, as well as structured evaluation of student progress and achievement during practice. Another important thing is the added value in terms of soft skills, such as communication skills, leadership, and adaptability that students gain during field practice. “We must control how later students in the field have good competence and character. It reflects how the higher education process and how it will be translated by students when interacting with stakeholders and the community as well as the world of education where teaching assistance is carried out and internships are carried out,” continued the academic from Panji Village, Sukasada, Buleleng.
Regarding Undiksha graduates, Prof. Tegeh said that he had received quite a lot of positive recognition from partners and graduate users. However, it was emphasized that Undiksha continues to take strategic steps to improve quality as part of realizing an increasingly competitive university and specifically to achieve Undiksha’s vision of “Becoming a Superior University in Asia in 2045 Based on the Tri Hita Karana Philosophy” and the vision of the Rector of Undiksha for the 2023-2027 period “Making Undiksha an International Reputable in Education and Leadership”.
In addition to an internal evaluation with related centers at LPMPP Undiksha, on the second day, August 3, 2024, this activity also invited the Bali Provincial Education Office and the Buleleng Regency Education Office to share their thoughts on the implementation of PLP. In addition, the Buleleng Regency Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office for the implementation of the internship program.
