Singaraia – Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) once again accepted four students from the Universite de La Rochelle (ULR), France who will study for six months. This foreign student was officially accepted in the event which was held in Ganesha Room II Undiksha Rector, Monday (02/24/2020).
The programme, which has been implemented since 2014, is a follow-up to the collaboration between Undiksha and ULR. Every year there are several students who come to study with a credit earning scheme. They will take lectures in several study programmes.
Head of LPPPM Undiksha, Prof. Dr. A.A.I.N. Marhaeni, M.A., who was present at the reception greatly appreciated the presence of this French student and the trust in choosing Undiksha as a place to study for one semester. “I am very grateful to the students who have chosen Undiksha as a place to study from February to July 2020,” she said. On that occasion, he also hoped that students could interact with social life to get to know Balinese culture and art. “These students take 6 courses from 4 different study programs. So, it can also be used to get to know Balinese culture,” she said. In addition, the academic from Klungkung Regency revealed that the arrival of these students was a challenge for Undiksha to provide services for foreigners, from education to facilities and infrastructure.
Meanwhile, the Head of Undiksha’s Office of International Affairs and Cooperation (KUIK), Ni Nengah Suartini, S.S., M.A., Ph.D., said that there were many benefits from the presence of these students. “With their arrival to Undiksha, they will not only improve their Indonesian language skills and deepen their knowledge of Bali. But it also motivates Undiksha students and provides opportunities to interact with different cultures so as to give the impression of a more global campus,” she said. Asked about her hopes, to make this programme better. “Hopefully this programme will continue and we can offer a more attractive programme, by improvising and innovating. In addition, we hope that this programme is not only for students from France but also from other universities around the world,” she concluded. (hms)
